The Americas
One of the most haunted sites in America, The Myrtles Plantation, in St. Francisville, Louisiana is built on a burial ground and people have reported at least 12 different ghosts. Many of the sightings seem to be of the pre-civil war slaves of the area.
The city of San Jose in California has a mansion named the Winchester Mystery House. It was the home of Sarah Winchester, who was the widow of a gun magnate William Wirt Winchester. People who were killed with Winchester rifles, their ghosts haunt this strange mansion.
The Stanley Hotel of Colorado is a serious place of paranormal activity. Many people have confronted ghosts as weird as the maid who packs guests’ clothes in their absence!
The town of Amityville in New York has a Horror House where a person named Ronald DeFeo killed six members of his family! The following inhabitants reported a lot of paranormal activity in the Amityville Horror House which eventually drove them out.

St. Bartholomew’s Church is located in the Czermna district of Kudowa, Poland. By the beginning of the 19th century, it was decorated with skulls and other bones of about 3,000 people. It is known by the name The Skull Chapel and the basement has another 20,000 bones!
A place in Paris, France has tunnels measuring hundreds of miles. It is the Paris Catacombs and one of the scariest places in the world. It served as a burial ground for the French people in the 1700s.
The Hoia Baciu Forest in Cluj-Napoca, Romania is regarded as the most haunted in the world. Go there and you may report the feeling of being watched, intense anxiety, etc. People have seen unexplained apparitions, ghosts, faces appearing in photographs which they didn’t see with the naked eye, and also UFOs!
Visit the most haunted place in Norway: The Akershus Festning. In this medieval castle, you may sight a ghostly woman without any facial features and a demon dog by the name Malcanisen guarding the castle gates.

Indonesia’s most haunted place: The Lawang Sewu is a former railway building. People have sighted many different ghosts here; some of them are the Dutch Woman, a female vampiric ghost of Indonesian and Malaysian mythology known as a Kuntilanak, and headless spirits.
You may think the Forbidden City is in the center of Beijing, China, what could be scary about it? Ask any local person or a ghost hunter and you will get the answer. One of the many apparitions in this haunted palace is that of a woman in white who sobs in the halls.

There is a fortress in Cape Town, South Africa called the Castle Of Good Hope. You may spot a gray lady crying in the halls, a tall man walking on the ramparts and other such ghosts. Previously this castle served for the Dutch East India Company as a replenishment station for their ships.
