Best shows on Netflix coming 2020

We loved the performance and the intriguing story of the horror series “Stranger Things” on Netflix. It is currently gearing up for a fourth season. We all discussed the uniqueness of the dark sci-fi anthology “Black Mirror,” which dealt with controversial topics boldly. No one would have missed the finely crafted series on popular comic superheroes of “Daredevil” & “Jessica Jones.”

Now that 2020 is around the corner, you must be anticipating more high-quality films by Netflix ready to blow your mind and take you on a new journey. Here is a compilation of some of such unique offerings and new seasons of previously hit shows:

White Lines:

Laura Haddock stars in this 10-part mystery series in which 20 years after his mysterious disappearance in Ibiza, the body of a Legendary Manchester DJ is found. Then his sister returns to investigate, and that will take her through thrilling events of dance clubs, cover-ups, and lies. In a place where people live life on the edge, she will be forced to confront her darker side.

Alice in Borderland:

Directed by Shinsuke Sato, this live-action series revolves around Ryohei Alice who suddenly finds himself in an empty Tokyo with his two best friends. To survive, they must compete in dangerous games. It is based on the survival and thriller manga by Haro Aso.

Madam CJ Walker:

This series narrates the story of the first self-made black female millionaire of the US. Besides Blair Underwood, Tiffany Haddish et al, this Netflix original will star Octavia Spencer as Walker. Watch how a black hair care pioneer overcomes multiple challenges to become a millionaire.

Ares (Season 1):

The first full Netflix original from the Netherlands is a supernatural horror/drama that will star some top actors of the region, and release on January 17th. The plot revolves around a secret society in Amsterdam where best friends Rosa & Jacob give in to the world of power and wealth. But gradually they realize that they’ve entered a satanic place which is resting on secrets from The Netherlands’ past.

Into the Night:

Helmed by the producers of “Narcos” and “Scandal,” this Belgian sci-fi series begins with a solar event as the Sun starts killing everything in its path. A plane carrying multilingual and multinational, all kinds of passengers, is out there in the sky trying to survive the onslaught of the Sun by any means.

The English Game:

The creator of Downtown Abbey, Julian Fellowes has written and executively produced this six-part drama. It delves into the origins of Football and how the people involved in its creation breached the class divide en route to making the game as the most popular sport in the world.

The Willoughbys:

This upcoming animated film, directed by Kris Pearn, is adopted from the book written by Lois Lowry. The plot consists of four children, abandoned by their parents, needing to start a new life by instantly adapting their traditional values with the contemporary world.

Sex Education (Season 2):

This highly anticipated sequel will be releasing on January 17th. The superhit comedy series features Gillian Anderson.

Ragnarok:

This is an original series from Norway premiering on January 31st. It has a supernatural story involving the inhabitants of Edda, who are not what they say. The world changes suddenly with raging downpours, warm winters, and melting poles with them. Just as everyone thinks the world is heading to a Ragnarok, someone intervenes in time.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous:

Six teenagers are chosen for a rare experience in a new adventure camp on the opposite of Isla Nublar. Then the Dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island, stranding the campers. To survive, they must unite as a family from being strangers in this animated series.

Netflix is so huge that all of the anticipated shows of 2020 certainly won’t fit in this list. Some other shows to watch out for are:

  • Cursed: Starring Katherine Langford as Nimue.
  • Spectros: Eight-episode Brazilian supernatural thriller, connecting Brazilian folklore and Japanese ghost tales.
