Wish to improve your Brain’s Memory Power? Eat these 10 foods

The importance of your brain cannot be underestimated. Your body will not work without it at all. You need to constantly take care of your most complex organ and also try to enhance it, bring it to a super level. Besides exercises, our Diet is another way to achieve that.

  • Coconut Oil

It is a versatile oil well known to give many benefits to our brain. It has saturated fats which break down to ketones and then are used as energy by the brain cells. It diminishes the production of damaging free radicals. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Black Beans

They are a wonderful source of protein. They can reverse the effects of Alzheimer’s disease as these black beans contain folate and magnesium in large quantities. They also help in brain development and improve memory.

  • Dark Chocolate

Who doesn’t love chocolates? Among them all, the darker variety has many health benefits too. They can lower the blood pressure by bettering the blood flow between our heart and brain. Plus they have flavonoids that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Red Wine

It is good, but only in moderate proportions. It reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s, it has a lot of antioxidants including flavonoids.

  • Pumpkin Seeds

They are known to be a rich source of Zinc whose deficiency increases the chances of many brain diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, depression, etc. It also increases learning power and memory. The pumpkin seeds are also abundant in magnesium, iron, and copper; all of which are beneficial for our brain in different ways.

  • Walnuts

One of the best brain-boosting foods, is rich in many nutrients like vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, fiber, etc. It also has a good amount of Omega-3 fatty acids that your brain needs. Eating one walnut a day is enough for your complete brain health.

  • Spinach

Among all the leafy vegetables, it is the best one for physical as well as brain health. Vitamin K which is needed for memory and focus is in good quantities in Spinach. It also has Vitamin A that reduces inflammation in the brain.

  • Oily Fish

Oily fish like salmon, tuna, mackerel, trout, etc. have many Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) esp. the Omega-3 fatty acid present in the form of DHA & EPA. It helps us manage stress and produces Serotonin, the good mood chemical. It stimulates brain cell growth and cognitive ability.

  • Whole Grains

They help with concentration, focus, and memory as they are a rich source of energy. They are loaded with fibers, and also essential minerals, and vitamins. Fibers help lower the risk of cognitive impairment.

  • Tomatoes

They are a good source of a powerful antioxidant called lycopene; it avoids the free radical damage to the brain cells which usually occurs in the various brain diseases. They also have a nutrient called carotenoid which helps in cognitive abilities and memory capacity.

Most of us consciously take care of our physical health by eating healthy and going to the gym etc. But it is also essential to care for our mental health, our brain health; which can be done by consuming these healthy foods regularly, good meditation, good conduct with everyone and of course, exercises.
